Community Voice

Clywed

Clywed was a five year lottery funded project, delivered by PLANED, that ran from 2012-2017
The project was part of the Community Voice portfolio of projects, managed by PAVS.
This short film shows how two of the Clywed project’s aims were met:
We brought together Pembrokeshire’s town and community councils to explore ways of delivering local services more efficiently. We did this through a number of networking and conference events.
We also explored new methods of engagement to encourage a wider range of community members to get involved and have their voices heard. This meant trialing new participative tools, such as the ‘video diary room’ shown in the film.
Both of these areas of work have now been mainstreamed into PLANED’s work with rural communities.
PLANED’s visioning and action planning activities were also extended from geographical communities to communities of interest including Pembrokeshire Access Group, Disability Wales and Pembrokeshire Young Farmers Clubs.

Facts and figures:

Almost 700 people engaged via the Clywed project have had their say on service planning.
Over 200 people increased the skills needed to contribute to planning services.
