New Job: Development Project Officer (Ceredigion & Carmarthenshire)

PLANED is a community development charity with over 30 years’ experience of delivery, innovation, and partnership working across West Wales. As communities emerge from the recent COVID related challenges, we are preparing for exciting new developments across the organisation with new projects that continue to place people, environment, economy, culture and digital amongst others, at the forefront of our innovative new partnership opportunities and outputs.

PLANED are excited to be recruiting to deliver a brand new collaborative pilot project covering Pembrokeshire, Carmarthen and Ceredigion.  The Wales Community Food Distribution Initiative will operate a flexible, inclusive, environmentally and economically sustainable distribution model, bringing together community groups, food producers and suppliers in Wales.

To be successful in this role you will develop community groups to be able to access affordable food whilst facilitating skills development within the communities you work with.  You will need to be organised, be able to engage communities and stakeholders with your practical approach and be solution-focused.

We are looking for:

Development Project Officer covering Ceredigion/Carmarthenshire – 37.5 hours, fixed term to June 2023 (£25,000)

Supporting the Project Coordinator, we are looking for an organised; solution-focused Development Project Officer to work within a small team to deliver on facilitating and setting up Community Food Hubs.  The hubs will be volunteer-led and linked to suppliers via regional Development Project Officers who will provide training and support to the volunteers to establish an advance ordering and payment protocol for local produce to be delivered to and distributed from these community venue.
