Putting Pembrokeshire on the map

PLANED CEO, Iwan Thomas recently joined the panel at a lively debate on the opportunities as well as the issues and barriers affecting businesses in the county.

Pembrokeshire County Council, Business News Wales and the Development Bank of Wales hosted this round table event ‘Putting Pembrokeshire on the map’ at the Bridge Innovation Centre, Pembroke Dock.

Speaking about the event, Iwan said: “As well as having a lively debate it was great to see agreement on tangible next steps for action in Pembrokeshire. We will be contacting business across the county and asking them what they need and what they can do to help other in practical terms.

“This will help ensure we don’t just set up another talking shop but that this forum makes a difference to businesses in Pembrokeshire.”

Topics discussed included:

  • What are the opportunities for businesses in the region?
  • What are the challenges facing businesses in the region?
  • Is there adequate business support and access to funding in Pembrokeshire?
  • How do public sector and private sector work together to support the region and put Pembrokeshire on the map?
  • What more can we do as a collective to support businesses in the region?
