Communities are key to rural life and we want to encourage the widest possible participation of local people whatever their age or background.

Our Community Action Planning process supports communities to build momentum, seek consensus and push for change together.  We run community visioning events which help to form Community Action Plans and also are a great chance for people to meet up and discuss the issues that matter to them in their local area.

The process of developing an Action Plan brings the community together to plan for the future. It helps get projects underway, reviews progress and is a vital piece of evidence when applying for funding.

We work with communities across Pembrokeshire to develop Action Plans for their area.

Action Plans…
  • provide information about the whole community
  • identifies local needs and opportunities
  • outlines the changes the community wants to see
  • and identifies who may be needed to help implement these changes.

A final version is agreed at a public meeting and a Community Forum is established to implement the Plan, with smaller groups working on specific projects.
