A new programme of peer support, mentoring and events to help community enterprises across all parts of Wales, called Enterprising Solutions has been launched by The Development Trusts Association Wales.
Enterprising Solutions is available to community organisations exploring, or setting up new community enterprise activity or in the early stages of trading. A similar programme in 2016 supported the Cardigan Swimming Pool to raise funds, look at ways to improve their energy efficiency and make useful links to enable them to carry out their refurbishment.
Catrin Bradley, from PLANED said: “There are 15 locally based Co-ordinators, working on behalf of DTA Wales and hosted in existing third sector organisations. We will initially meet groups and explain more about what Enterprising Solutions is all about. After developing an action plan, they will be matched to a peer mentor to help them in their own community enterprise journey. Over 40 peer mentors are currently waiting in the wings to provide support, including some of our very own team at PLANED.”
Other support includes learning masterclasses on a range of community enterprise related topics, and best practice exchange visits to see community enterprises in action. The whole programme is funded by the Big Lottery and will run until December 2019.
